Property on the Estate
Across the 1500 acres of The Dulwich Estate, there are around 5,000 homes and 80 shops, restaurants and pubs. You’ll find a wide range of architectural styles, from the historic – some dating back to the 17th century – to modern tower blocks.
For several centuries, The Dulwich Estate itself owned most of the residential property within its boundaries. However, since 1967 any leaseholder has had the right to buy the freehold. Many Dulwich residents have chosen to do this.
Whether you are a freeholder or a leaseholder, there are various rules governing the way property on the Estate must be looked after.
