Proposal:
Species and Location of Trees
T1. A Horse Chestnut tree approximately 12m in height, situated on the left-hand side towards the bottom of the rear garden. The tree is a little low growing.
T2. A Yellow False Acacia tree approximately 5m in height, situated slightly to the right of (T1). The tree is out of shape.
T3. A Purple Plum tree approximately 7.5m in height, situated on the left-hand side of the rear garden. The tree is a little tall and dense.
T4. A Purple Plum tree approximately 6m in height, situated in the right-hand corner of the front garden bordering Alleyn Park. The tree is dead.
Description of Approved Works
T1. Remove three low growing branches by pruning at the main trunk.
T2. Lightly thin by 10% and re-shape as necessary.
T3. Crown thin by 20% including the removal of dead wood and water shoots, and necessary re-shaping. The height may also be reduced by up to 3m. However, it is important to prune branches at convenient growth points where possible.
T4. Remove and the roots ground out.
Details of Replacement Required
As a condition of the removal of (T4) above, a replacement tree should be planted in a nearby location of the front garden and below are the three-alternative species for consideration:
Davidia involucrata (Pocket Handkerchief tree)
Cercis siliquastrum (Judas tree)
Tilia cordata (Small leaved Lime)
The tree should be planted with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3.5m.
