Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

A Purple Plum tree approximately 8m in height, situated on the front boundary with Alleyn Park.  Foliage around the tree has now been cleared revealing significant dead wood.  There is also a large bracket of fungus (Ganoderma) at the base of the trunk which indicates decay.

Description of Approved Works

Remove and the roots grubbed out.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of the above, three replacement trees are to be planted near the front boundary and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Crataegus prunifolia        (Cockspur Thorn)

Tilia cordata                       (Small leafed Lime)

Betula nigra                        (River Birch)

The tree should be planted with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3.5m.
