Proposal:
Species and Location of Trees
T1. A Cypress tree approximately 12m in height, situated in the right-hand corner of the front garden adjacent to Alleyn Par. The tree is a little low growing.
T2. A twin stemmed Holly tree approximately 5.5m in height, situated on the front boundary to the left side of the driveway entrance. The tree is a poor specimen.
T3. A Cherry tree approximately 5.5m in height, situated in a central location has been significantly damaged by a falling tree. a few years ago. The tree is poorly shaped and a poor specimen.
T4. A Cherry tree approximately 7.5m in height, situated close to the house on the left-hand side of the rear garden. The tree is a little dense.
T5. A Bay tree approximately 7.5m in height, situated in the bottom right-hand corner of the rear garden. The tree is a little tall.
T6. A Purple Plum tree approximately 10m in height, situated in a central location on the bottom boundary of the rear garden. The tree is a little dense.
Description of Approved Works
T1. Low branches to be removed by trimming at the main trunk up to a height of 3m from ground level, including the removal of dead wood. The height and basic shape should be retained.
T2. Remove and the stump ground out.
T3. Remove and the stump ground out.
T4. Lightly thin by 15% including the removal of dead wood and epicormic growth. The height and basic shape should be retained. It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction or pollarding which is not permitted.
T5. Reduce in height by approximately 2m and the side growth rounded off proportionally to form a more compact specimen.
T6. Crown thin by 20% including the removal of dead wood, water shoots and necessary re-shaping. The height and basic shape should be retained. It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction or pollarding which is not permitted.
Details of Replacement Required
As a condition of the removal of (T3) above, two replacement trees are to be planted in a central location of the front garden and below are the four alternative species for consideration:
Arbutus unedo (Strawberry tree)
Aesculus x carnea (Pink Chestnut)
Magnolia soulangeana (deciduous Magnolia)
Koelreuteria paniculata (Pride of India)
The new trees should be planted during the November 2022 and March 2023 planting season with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m.
