Proposal:
Species and Location of Trees
T1. A Malus tree approximately 6m in height, situated on the left-hand side boundary of the rear garden adjacent to Calton Avenue. The tree is completely dead
T2. A Hawthorn tree approximately 5m in height, situated on the bottom boundary of the rear garden adjacent to the flank wall of no.28 Calton Avenue. The tree is completely dead
T3. A mature Cypress tree approximately 12m in height, situated in the bottom left-hand corner of the rear garden. The tree is a little low growing over the footpath along Calton Avenue.
Description of Approved Works
T1. Remove and the roots grubbed out.
T2. Remove and the roots grubbed out.
T3. Low branches to be lifted to provide a clearance of 3.5m from ground level, including the removal of dead wood. The height and basic shape should be retained.
Details of Replacement Required
T1. None. A replacement tree is not necessary as the boundary is already well stocked with trees.
T2. As a condition of the removal of (T2) above, a replacement tree should be planted in a line with the centre of the adjacent house in the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:
Betula jacquemontii (Silver Birch)
Liquidambar styraciflua (Sweet Gum of N America)
Palownia tomentosa (Foxglove tree)
