Proposal:
Species and Location of Trees
T1. A Holm Oak tree approximately 15m in height, situated to the right of the Coach House in the front garden. The tree is a little tall.
T2. A Yew tree approximately 12m in height, situated close to (T1). The tree is a little tall for its location.
T3. Two self-seeded and slender tall trees, an Ash and a Sycamore, approximately 12m in height, situated close to (T2). The trees are poorly shaped and obscure a view to a mature Cedar tree to the rear.
T4. An Ash and a Sycamore tree approximately 15m in height, situated to the right of (T3). The trees are a little dense.
T5. A Horse Chestnut tree approximately 20m in height, situated towards the bottom right-hand corner of the rear garden. The tree is dead.
Description of Approved Works
T1. Reduce in height by up to 30% including the removal of dead wood and the necessary shaping of the tree. It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points where possible.
T2. Reduce in height by up to 25% and round off to form a more compact specimen.
T3. Remove both trees and the stumps ground out.
T4. Crown thin both trees by 20% including the removal of dead wood and necessary re-shaping. The height and basic shape should be retained. It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction or pollarding which is not permitted.
T5. Fell and the stump ground out.
Details of Replacement Required
T5. As a condition of the removal of the above, a replacement tree should be planted in a nearby location of the rear garden and below are the three-alternative species for consideration:
Fagus sylvatica (Beech)
Quercus robur (Oak)
Castanea sativa (Sweet Chestnut)
The tree should be planted with a stem girth of between 18-20cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 4m.
