Proposal:
Species and Location of Trees
T1. A Laburnum tree approximately 2.5m in height, situated on the right-hand side boundary of the rear garden. The tree is a little dense.
T2. A Flowering Dogwood tree (Cornus mas) approximately 6m in height, situated reasonably close to the house on the left-hand side boundary of the rear garden. The tree is very dense and wide spreading.
Description of Approved Works
T1. Remove and the roots grubbed out.
T2. Crown thin by 30% including the removal of any dead wood, together with selected stems being removed altogether by pruning at branch junctures or the main stem. The height and basic shape should be retained. It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction or pollarding which is not permitted.
Details of Replacement Required
As a condition of the removal of (T1) above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:
Acer griseum (Paperbark Maple)
Amelanchier lamarckii (Snowy Mespilus)
Rhus typhina (Sumach)
The tree should be planted during the November 2021 and March 2022 planting season with a stem girth of between 14-16cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3m.
