Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.         A Holly tree approximately 5m in height, situated on the left-hand side of the patio.

T2.         An Oak tree approximately 18m in height, situated on the left-hand side of the lower part of the rear garden.

Description of Approved Works

T1.         Remove.

T2.         The root protection area should be a radius of 6m around the base of the tree.  This area should not be disturbed during the works and any planting should be small shrubs of a maximum 3-litre pot size to avoid damaging roots.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of (T1) above, two replacement trees are to be planted in a in the bottom area of the rear garden to screen off the existing garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Arbutus unedo                 (Strawberry Tree) x 2

Magnolia grandiflora     (Magnolia) x 2

Prunus lusitanica             (Portugal Laurel) x 2

The new trees should be planted with a stem girth of between 10 -12cm.
