Dulwich Common, 16

Proposal:

Specie and Location of Tree

A Willow tree approximately 16m in height situated on the left-hand side of the rear garden near the boundary.  A single large eastward-facing limb disrupts the crown’s balance.

Description of Approved Works

Removal of this limb back closer to its union point (at elbow) with the main stem, approximately 3m from the trunk.  This would enhance the trees overall appearance and restore the balance.  Additionally, removal of several dead branches within the crown will improve safety.  The height and basic shape should be retained.  It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction or pollarding which is not permitted.
