Proposal:

Species and Location of Trees

T1.          A Copper Beech tree approximately 12m in height, situated in the front garden.  The tree is a little dense and wide-spreading.

T2.          A Horse Chestnut tree approximately 15m in height, situated relatively close to the house on the left-side.  The tree is a little dense.

T3.          A Yew tree approximately 9m in height, situated on the right-hand side boundary of the rear garden close to the house.  The tree is badly sited.

T4.          Two Beech trees approximately 15m in height, situated on either side of the rear garden towards the bottom boundary.  The trees are a little dense.

T5.          A Yew tree approximately 3m in height, situated on the right-hand side boundary close to a Lime tree (T4).  The tree is badly sited.

Description of Approved Works

T1.          Crown thin by 25% including the removal of dead wood and necessary lifting of low branches, the height and basic shape should be retained.  It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points.

T2.          Crown thin by 25% including the removal of dead wood, and necessary shortening of long lateral branches in order to reduce the weight at branch extremities.  The height and basic shape should be retained.

T3.          Remove and the stump ground out.

T4.          Crown thin by 20% including the lifting of low branches to 4m, the removal of dead wood, and necessary re-shaping.  The height and basic shape should be retained.

T5.          Remove and the stump ground out.

Details of Replacement Required

T3.          As a condition of the removal of the above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a nearby location of the rear garden and below are the three-alternative species for consideration:

Crataegus ‘Paul’s Scarlet’              (Crimson May tree)

Sorbus aria ‘Majestica’                  (Variety of Whitebeam)

Koelreuteria paniculate                 (Pride of India)
