Proposal:
Species and Location of Trees
T1. A Malus tree approximately 7m in height, situated on the left-side of the rear garden.
T2. A Goat Willow tree approximately 12m in height, situated on the left-hand boundary of the rear garden just beyond (T1) above.
T3. A Malus tree approximately 9m in height, situated on the left-hand side of the rear garden. The tree is dead.
T4. An Oak tree approximately 19m in height, situated in a central position on the left-hand side of the rear garden.
Description of Approved Works
T1. Crown shaping and size reduction. Carefully remove two large limbs on opposite sides for improved form. North (towards the house) remove the lowest limb completely back to the main stem. South (towards the neighbours’ Goat Willow) reduce the limb to a side branch approximately 1m above the trellis. Light crown reshaping and deadwood removal.
T2. Reduce overgrown North side. Remove the lowest lateral branch towards the Malus tree. Prune other lateral branches on this side by reducing up to 2m to improve light penetration. Crown thin by up to 20%.
T3. Removal down to base.
T4. Very light thinning of the upper crown by up to 10% to maintain health, while retaining the tree’s height and basic shape.
Details of Replacement Required
None. A replacement is not necessary as the garden is well stocked with trees.
