Proposal:
Species and Location of Trees
T1. A Holm Oak tree approximately 7.5m in height, situated on the left-hand side boundary midway down the rear garden. The tree is a little dense and wide spreading.
T2. A Pine tree approximately 16m in height, situated close to the right-hand side boundary towards the bottom of the rear garden.
T3. A Weeping Willow tree approximately 15m in height, situated on the left-hand side close to the bottom boundary of the rear garden. The tree is a little tall and dense.
T4. Five Cypress trees approximately 6m in height, situated along the bottom left-hand side boundary close to the bottom of the rear garden. The trees are in poor health.
Description of Approved Works
T1. Crown thin by 25% including the removal of dead wood and necessary re-shaping. The height and basic shape should be retained. It is important to prune branches at convenient growth points, rather than an all-round reduction or pollarding which is not permitted.
T2. The tree should be retained.
T3. Crown thin by approximately 30% including the removal of dead wood, lifting of low branches, and the necessary shaping of the tree. The height may be reduced by up to 30% by removing the vertical growth in the upper crown whilst retaining the natural weeping shape, it is important to prune branches at convenient growth points where possible.
T4. Remove and the roots grubbed out.
Details of Replacement Required
As a condition of the removals of (T4) above, a replacement hedge should be planted at suitable centres. New plants should be bushy specimens with at least five breaks in the lower third and planted at a minimum height of 1.2m. One of the following alternative species is recommended:
Taxus baccata (Yew)
Euonymus japonica (Euonymus)
Prunus lusitanica (Portugal Laurel)
Ilex J C van Tol (Holly (non prickly))
