Proposal:

Species and Location of Tree

A Lombardy Poplar tree approximately 20m in height, situated in the bottom right hand corner of the rear garden.  The tree is covered in Ivy and has shed two very large boughs.  There was significant decay at the centre of the broken boughs.

Description of Approved Works

The tree to either be removed in its entirety with the stump being ground out or reduced to a stump 4m above ground level and made safe.

Details of Replacement Required

As a condition of the removal of the above, a replacement tree is to be planted in a convenient location of the rear garden and below are the three alternative species for consideration:

Crataegus prunifolia        (Cockspur Thorn)

Sorbus aria ‘Majestica’  (variety of Whitebeam)

Koelreuteria paniculata (Pride of India)

The tree should be planted with a stem girth of 14-16 cm at 1m above ground level and at a minimum height of 3.5m.
