Alterations to commercial property
We support local businesses and actively promote them. We are also flexible, where possible, about internal alterations and redecoration to help you create the right environment for you and your customers.
However, please remember that any proposed changes to the external appearance of the property, plus any structural alterations inside, require the prior consent of the Estate. This includes shopfronts and signage. See the guidelines and how to apply for consent. The same guidelines apply to commercial tenants as residents.
Substantial works may also require the consent of the local planning authority.
Prior written consent is required before you can assign or sub-let premises. Any change of use may also require prior consent of both the Estate, and the local planning authority.
