10,000 tree whips to be planted across the Estate over 5 years

National Highways is providing grant funding to The Dulwich Estate for 10,000 tree and shrub whips over the next five years.

This supports the Estate’s long-term aim to improve biodiversity across the Estate, joining up gaps in hedges and providing habitat in areas that are currently bare or need green screening.

A variety of native species plants up to 60cm tall include hazel, spindle, field maple, wild service, hawthorn and oak. Locations at Peckarmans Wood, Dulwich Wood Avenue, Grange Lane and Mill Pond are due to be planted by the end of March next year.
