NEWS:

Get ready for Dulwich Festival!

18 March 2024

We are lucky that between May 10-19 an arts and culture explosion will arrive in the form of the ever popular Dulwich Festival.

Led by a new team including director Sarah Taylor, it promises to deliver another stimulating line up of events, bookended by Artists’ Open House.

Participants will have the opportunity to strip the willow at the Festival Ceilidh, boogie with their babies at Big Fish Little Fish, sing along with Dulwich Choir Festival, don their dancing shoes at the Festival Disco and engage with a wide range of fascinating topics during numerous walks and talks.

Literature events will span the ten days, with headliners likely to attract wide audiences, including British food writer and blogger Ella Mills, journalist and Channel 4 presenter Cathy Newman and entrepreneur, author and social commentator Kenny Imafidon. The environmentally sustainable, bike-powered troupe, HandleBards, will be providing multi-generational appeal with their rendition of Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors, whilst a solid line-up of musicians is set to rouse excitement with jazz, classical and contemporary events, including Southwark Sinfonietta.

Families outings on offer include fairs at Goose Green, Dulwich Park and West Dulwich, a Teddy Bears' picnic at The Village Orchard with creepy crawly activities from the London Wildlife Trust, a day at the remarkable Kingswood Arts and fun-filled music from South London Symphonic Winds.
Historic spaces hosting Artists’ Open House participants will lead viewers on an architectural journey through Havelock Walk, Arches Studios, Parade Mews Pottery, Bell House and Kingswood House. A pop-up shop at 43 Dulwich Village, sponsored by The Dulwich Estate, will be a hub for multiple artists from around the area.

Tickets go on sale on 25 March.
